I give the imagery a new meaning, often quite personal and individual, outside of the boundaries of scientific definition. In other words, the viewer can see a diagram, an equation, or images of electron trails, but in the context of a specific palette of color or gestural mark, their interpretation changes. The form of the piece might come to suggest anger, fear, bliss, or wonder. At the root of these works—their essence—is an exploration of the mystery of the universe, the human body, the elements of nature, and the Self. Through science, definitions of objects, systems and experiences are created, but art allows for the wonder of these facets of life and existence to be absorbed and explored in an intuitive, non-linear fashion. |
